After talking about it for months, I have finally created a blog to record my time serving with the Peace Corps in Peru!! With 8 days left before I begin my grand adventure, life is nothing short of hectic and surreal. I began the process of joining the Peace Corps a year ago, but I'll leave the application process for another post. I have spent the past month, a time I have fondly referred to as Operation Peru Preparedness, graduating from graduate school, moving from Columbia back home with my parents, and traveling around the great state of South Carolina to visit with friends and family. And, of course, I've spent lots of time cleaning out my room, organizing my things, and packing and preparing for Peru.
I am now looking forward to spending the next week celebrating William's high school graduation and relaxing with family at Edisto before flying to Washington DC for staging and the beginning of my adventure as a Peace Corps volunteer!
